Strategies to stay strong and move boldly towards the things you desire
#1: Define your motto in life
Just like in her song Roar- Katy Perry says “I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything”.
You need to have your values and principles clear. Do your best to figure out what’s important to you and what you stand for.
Doing this will help you draw boundaries and you will know what you are willing to sacrifice, compromise and tolerate.
You will stay strong just knowing that no matter what you have your own guidelines that will get you through anything, as long as, you stay true to yourself.
#2: Remember your previous accomplishments
If you are an analytical person like me, it’s easy to doubt everything when you face uncertainty and adversity.
You probably even drive yourself mad by overthinking and looking for arguments that show why a “solution” will or will not work.
So it’s time to find real, tangible and positive arguments to help you fight your battle.
I know I have said it many times before, but writing things down can be one of the most powerful things you can do and when it comes to staying strong this is not an exception.
Take your journal or a piece of paper and draw a timeline of your life.
Then write down your accomplishments (please don’t underestimate what you have done so far) and also a quick summary of the times you overcame a challenge.
I want you to stare at that piece of paper. This is your tangible proof. This is your evidence baby! This is showing how tough you are and how far you’ve come and all the things you can do.Remembering all those times you overcame a challenge will give you fuel to fight any problem… Click To Tweet
#3: Become really good at shifting your focus
Every time you feel defeated, anxious, worried and you doubt your capacity and ability to overcome this mountain you’re facing, use the emotion as a cue to shift your focus.
If you continue feeding those negative thoughts, it will become harder for you to get into motion towards a solution.
Without even knowing, you even run the risk of allowing these negative thoughts to become your new motto in life (remember tip #1?).
And you can’t have that. You are not this ambitious to let your mind boss you around and tell you what you cannot do and have. No can do!
Remember how hard it is to get rid of bad habits? Don’t let self-pity and negative thinking become one.
Instead, shift your focus towards something that will energise you. Use motivational videos, books, biographies, quotes and your vision board to open your mind and see new possibilities.
#4: Use your Faith
This is the time to hold on to God, the universe or any higher power you believe in.
Your faith can be one of your most powerful tools to stay strong (that’s why I even have it tattooed on my arm)
It teaches you to trust that things happen FOR you and not TO you, that you are being guided towards your destiny and this is just a test and a way to shape your character.
